Fantasy football strategy – What would you do?

– 1. I feel like I need to shed a WR to gain some strength at RB (since Harvin and Cotchery have performed above expectations I think that there is some leeway).
– 2. 3 WR’s and 2 RB’s play
– 3. League is PPR
– 4. Would it be worth going as far as giving up Moss for a solid RB given the situation.
–5. Players:
WR’s
Randy Moss
Dwayne Bowe
Jerricho Cotchery
Roy Williams
Percy Harvin
Hakeem Nicks

RB’s
LaDainian Tomlinson
Fred Jackson
Cedric Benson
Larry Johnson
Rashard Mendenhall

Thanks for any insight you might bring to the situation.

HELP! Female needing a super crash course in Fantasy Football draft and play strategy!?

This is my first year playing Fantasy Football. I have been reading through the 100+ pages of CBSSports.com’s 2009 Draft Kit, but I am still confused about the whole process and strategy. Is there an experienced, successful player out there who could give me a simple but thorough explanation of how the draft and game works? Perhaps even some stellar strategy that will help me win against all the stinky, snotty boys? ;o) THANKS!

Help! 1 Hour before Draft! Fantasy football strategy? Rb, WR, WR, WR, Qb?

In a keeper league (2) but I have kept 1, Adrian Peterson and would like to follow the following draft format; Rb, WR, WR, WR, Qb.

If my first pick gives me the opportunity to have Brady I will take it, other than that I think I will get Chris Johnson and fill my WR spots for the following rounds. I am doing this because we play 3 receivers in our league I feel I can snag a decent QB in Rd. 6.

Is this the right strategy or should I try and land a high profile QB before any receivers? It a different world than it was 5 seasons ago.

Yahoo! Fantasy Football Autodraft Strategy Question: Does it make sense to exclude all kickers?

This is for a custom league with default settings that might have less than 10 people playing. The thinking is that I do not want the autodraft to select a kicker with an 8th or 9th round pick. By excluding all kickers, no kicker will be drafted, but I can then try to pick someone off of waivers (or morely likely a FA).

Would the analysis for answering this be any different if we are talking about tight ends and/or defenses?

Fantasy football draft strategy: WR/WR, RB/RB, or RB/WR?

Fantasy football draft strategy: WR/WR, RB/RB, or RB/WR?
I did a WR/WR that turned out like this:

QB: Tony Romo, Matt Ryan
RB: Knowshon Moreno, Jonathan Stewart, Felix Jones, Reggie Bush, Leon Wahington
WR: Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Robert Meachem, Devin Hester, Mario Manningham, Mike Williams
TE: Jermichael Finley
DEF: Ravens
K: Nate Kaeding

I also did a RB/RB that turned out like this:
QBs- Tony Romo and Eli Manning
RBs- DeAngelo Williams, Ryan Mathews, Jahvid Best, Felix Jones, and Ahmad Bradshaw
WRs- Desean Jackson, Roddy White, Robert Meachem, Steve Breaston, and Malcom Floyd
TEs- Vernon Davis, and John Carlson
DEF- Bills
K- Dan Carpenter

I ended up trading John Carlson for Rob Bironas instead of just dropping him and I picked up the Giants DEF. I also traded Jahvid Best and DeAngelo Williams for Michael Turner.

A 15 year fantasy football player said that you should pick WR/WR and not a RB until round 4. That’s what I did on the top draft. The reasoning was that RBs get hurt so often that WRs, QBs, and TEs get injured a lot less and are like more reliable or something like that. I don’t completely remember what he said. What are your opinions on the drafts and which strategy is best?

New Fantasy Football Strategy?

i was thinking the other day that this could actually work using statistics and calculations this morning……

lets say im in a 14 team draft… and i have the 14th pick (then the 15th obviously)

now heres what im thinking

1st pick – peyton manning (if hes there)
2nd pick – reggie wayne (also if there)

then i have 2 back to back picks again obviously

3rd pick – dallas clark
4th pick – joseph addai

5th pick – pierre garcon
6th pick – austin collie

7th pick – donald brown
8th pick – anthony gonzalez

i think u get the trend but then ide take adam vinatieri and colts defense and backups

when u think about it… its a high scoring team (more nfl points = more fantasy points)

i also think that green bay and new orleans would be better then the colts but would be harder to get

what do u think??? please be considerate and understanding cuz when u think about it it has a slight chance of working (especially in a 14 team draft)

any thoughts???

what draft strategy should i use in fantasy football?

What’s up everybody. I’m playing in a 12 team fantasy football standard league. The draft party is this saturday and I’m #8 in the draft. I usually draft 2 rbs first but at number 8 all the elite backs are gone. Should I draft 2 top notch wrs first or backs. I appreciate your input. Thanks guys.

New to fantasy football… strategy for draft?

Hello all. I am new to fantasy football and do not follow football all that closely (though hopefully I will start to now that I have a FF team). Anyways, becuase I am relatively clueless as to who to pick and at what time, I cannot rely on my own, fair and square knowledge. So, I would like to ask how I should go about the draft which is in two days time. I have found a few lists of the top draft picks but am not sure in what order to go after the players in. The ideal reply would say a list of the players I should try to get along with in what order I should try for them and also some players to go for instead of them. It is an espn league so I need 2 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 te, 1 k, another wr or rb, and a d or st.
Also, who should I put in my 6 bench spots?

As much help with this as possible would be appreciated. Thanks. Hopefully I can take my friend, the winner of last yrs league, down a few notches :)
