The first double gameweek of the campaign may have just completed but it already presents the challenge of having to deal with midweek European encounters in the forthcoming weeks. Due to issues like the rotation policy adopted by Pep Guardiola and the slump in form experienced by some players, it is essential for the fantasy football managers to make some key changes to the squad. Here are some of the great picks for the upcoming weeks:

Miguel Almiron – £6 million

Newcastle’s latest signing can be a hit and miss. At just £20 million – which is a relatively low figure in this day and age – he does not have a huge amount of pressure. After having been a major source of goals and assists for Atlanta United, Miguel Almiron can help Newcastle avoid relegation. He is a bit of an unknown in the Premier league, but he can be a successful addition.

Glen Murray – £6.3 million

Brighton’s top scorer has been overlooked in recent weeks as he has been picked up by just 3% of the Premier League fantasy managers. However, he remains an excellent addition to any squad and he is once again back among goals. The 35-year-old has 10 league goals and he is the player Brighton players look up to.

Gonzalo Higuain – £9.5 million

Maurizio Sarri has had to go to great lengths in order to get his wish of being reunited with Gonzalo Higuain. Even though the Argentine has not been in great form of late, the former Napoli man has always excelled when playing under the Italian boss. Despite joining midway through the campaign, he came up with a good performance against Huddersfield Town.

Victor Lindelof – £5.0 million

The Manchester United defender has been an integral part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s regime at the club. He has been able to get a run of three clean sheets from the last nine league matches.
