FPL REVIEW: SOLANKE’S INJURY,  BOWEN OFF PENALTIES

We round up the key Fantasy Premier League (FPL) talking points from West Ham United v Bournemouth in our Scout Notes summary. Dominic Solanke (£5.8m) hobbled off in Bournemouth’s defeat to West Ham on Monday, lasting only 45 minutes of the Cherries’ 2-0 loss after picking up what appeared to be an ankle injury. To add to the visitor’s woes, they also lost first-choice‘ keeper Neto (£4.5m) at the break, having hurt himself while clearing the ball in the first half. He was replaced by Mark Travers (£4.3m), who started the season as number one but hasn’t played since the 9-0 Liverpool defeat.

As for West Ham, Kurt Zouma (£4.5m) netted the opener, with VAR in the spotlight after the ball bounced off Thilo Kehrer’s (£4.5m) arms in the build-up. The Frenchman has now taken eight shots inside the box this season, more than any other FPL defender bar Virgil van Dijk (£6.5m) and Ryan Sessegnon (£4.5m). (more…)

BLANK GAME WEEK 12 CONFIRMED: ARSENAL VS MANCHESTER CITY POSTPONED

Gameweek 12 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) will be a ‘blank’ for both Arsenal and Manchester City, the Premier League confirmed this morning. The two sides were due to meet at the Emirates on October 19 but the Gunners’ outstanding UEFA Europa League tie against PSV Eindhoven, originally scheduled for this Thursday but postponed due to policing resources being needed elsewhere in London, will now take place in that midweek. A new date has not been announced for the postponed game in north London.

It won’t take place before we break for the World Cup in mid-November, however, with no free midweeks for either Arsenal or Manchester City over that period. It’ll likely be early 2023 before we see any rearrangements for this or the 13 other postponed games that remain without a date. (more…)
