The Associated Press reports the Philadelphia Eagles sued Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens for bonus money he has not repaid the team. The suit for $770,000 was filed in a U.S. District Court Monday, April 28. Owens lost an arbitration case earlier this year and had to repay $1.7 million in bonuses the Eagles paid him when he played for the team in 2004 and 2005. The Eagles are now trying to get back the remaining sum of $769,117.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick has been ordered to pay more than $2.5 million to the Royal Bank of Canada in a court order that was filed Wednesday, May 7. The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia granted a motion for summary judgment against Vick for default and breach of a promissory note from Jan. 18 of 2007. Vick was found in default of $2,421,170.90. He also has to pay interest of the rate of $499 per diem from Sept. 19, 2007, to May 7, 2008. The total from that time period comes to $115,269.
